Mark, I'll pick it up for you. I'll be traveling from not so far away (Utah) to do the 50k at Woodside. Near sea level, soft trails, warmer weather (for December, to me anyhow)...what's not to love about THAT?? ;D
Plus it's an excuse to go spend some time near salt water that isn't in a closed basin.
All of my arrangements are made...all I need to do is send in my registration. Looking forward to it!

There are alot of trails in Huddart Park, but I assure you the course will be well-marked and easy to follow whether you are in the lead or in the middle of the pack.
Take a look at the 'race-day info' page to understand the striped ribbons (turns).
Good luck.

i went up there today.. i was doing good. until i hit crystal springs trail. not sure if u remember. but there is a sign that says TRAIL with an arrow. near a power line. i didn't know if i was suppose to keep on going up there.. or turn left.. but i went left first.. and it didn't seem like a trail at all. then i kept on going.. i ran ran ran for another 3 miles. didn't see anything .so i just took the hard road down.

Hey Ken...I'm there (gym) pretty much everyday at some time or another (rode the stationary bike earlier today as part of recovery after 28m Quad Dipsea yesterday).
Back to your question, the only intersection you really need to look for is where the 10K course splits/forks from the longer distances...it goes LEFT at Dean Trail (10K summit), while the longer distances stay to the right...that should come for you ~30min into the run.

I think I know what/where you are talking about, the arrow points right...you probably should have went right. Will G.

Hey, I was just thinking about you! Someone else with the same last name just signed up for something...and I was hoping that you were doing well.
We won't sell out in Woodside - there's so much parking.
Hope to see you there, Jon!

The only question was whether to run Woodside or the NorthFace challenge. I'm choosing Woodside because of the RDs... , and I can always run Muir and/or Rodeo later in the month to get my headlands fix. This will be my last running hurrah in my 20s. ;D

Hey, thanks for picking Woodside! It'd be great to see you - hope that you can make it.
I keep meaning to ask you - when is your birthday? Mine's coming up, too - but I'm old enough to be your parent!!

Mine's coming up, too - but I'm old enough to be your parent!! Sarah December 7th. Yours? Don't worry, by your standards, if you are old enough to be my mother, then mine is old enough to be yours. Therefore, by deductive reasoning, my perspective of mother to son age difference doesn't allow me to think of you as motherly. However, I will never complain about a post-race hug and a bowl of chicken noodle soup.
