After some rough back-of-the-twinkie-wrapper calculating, I have determined my three points are probably not going to multiply any, won't lead me to the podium. With your permission, W&S, I intend to sell them on eBay later this week, using the profits to drown my sorrow in a six-pack of root beer and a bag of Funyons. I'll endure this. I swear I will.

My goal for this year was to "Veni, vidi, vici" (yes, I not only learn English but also Latin during my trail running endeavour) and to collect at least one or two points by just showing up and "run leisurely". Well, I got 2 points which is a whopping point per occurence so far. Looks like it is not as easy at it seemed. Now I know why all the Austrian formula one drivers are "tail runners". The point system simply doesn't work for them. Oh well.

Norbert, if you simply wrote that reply in the mother tongue it wouldn't sound so hopeless.

We've expanded the annual awards for the Race Series:
For each category, Race Series shirts and custom awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place overall female and male finishers and to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place female and male finishers in each age group (< 30, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, & 60+). Patagonia Capilene, Soffe Dri-Release, and cotton shirts will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers, respectively.
Sarah
PS With almost 500 runners and over 80 in the 50 Km alone last Saturday, we knew that the points at Sequoia wouldn't go far.

Do you think Will's gonna buy them to resell along with the used bibs? Sarah

Berger had ten Grand Prix wins in his career - maybe you just need to run Diablo 50, Lake Merritt 12 Hour, Headlands Hundred, and the SF One Day...

But when I collect points in the "Grand Prix" events they're not added to the Ultra Race category, right ? (Ultra is only 50k in that matter I think) Will, are you planning on running any of the fixed-time events?

No, that's a whole 'nother level (fixed-time & 50/100m events) that of which I have a great respect for those like yourself that compete/complete. I'll be volunteering at the Diablo 50m and Headlands 100. Depending on how the summer 50K events go, I may consider my first 50m at Firetrails in early October. Next up: Way Too Cool 50K. Will G.

Chris, I'll trade you your points for some Wonder Bread with a big blue ribbon on top?
