This will be my first trail run and my girlfriend is planning to get to the finish line.
I read on the website there will be a shuttle from the parking area to the finish? Is this for spectators as well? What time do they start going from the parking lot to the finish ? Is there an exact address to the parking lot or should I just use the google map on the page?
Any advice or insight is appreciated....

Ricky Reread the run day instructions. To wit: "For those who signed up for the shuttle service, the buses leave from Hwy 1 at 7:00 a.m. The ride is approximately 75 minutes to the start at Saratoga Gap." You've got it backwards. The idea is for people to leave their cars at the finish, then be bused to the start. Then they have to reach the finish before they can drive home. So, if your girlfriend intends to pick you up at the end, you'll need to be dropped off at the start, or park on skyline quite a ways from the start and hike to it.

I think he was asking about the other shuttle, the one from the finish line to the parking lot and back. (since the parking lot is quite a ways from the finish line). It would seem that if the shuttle is going back and forth to take runners to their cars after the race, spectators could also ride from the parking lot to the finish line to see their sweeties drag their broken bodies across the finish line and collapse in a heap.
The question is, what time does this shuttle service begin?

I don't know what time the shuttle service begins, but I would expect it is probably after the first marathoner's begin to finish the race. Some time after noon, I would expect.
There is some parking at the beach near the finish that spectators could use. It might be pay parking and it is a limited number of spots that will fill up if it is a nice day out.

Thanks for all the responses.
To clarify I will be dropped off at the start.
I will have my girlfriend try the beach parking and if not the designated lot. If the shuttle is not there I am guessing she can bring her running shoes and go for a 1.6 mile jog....
Thanks again everyone!

Look again. It's posted as full, since yesterday (both Marathon and 50KM apparently) .
