Can you give details? i live in Colorado, and run 40+ a week, on concrete and trails. and would love some advice!!! super excited to do this. have done many Halfs, but no trail races. so whatever you got....would love to hear about! thanks,

I've done both (assuming you mean Santa Monica 30K), similar in that each course offers sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean from summits, varied terrain from relatively technical singletrack to wide fireroads, and lots of climbs. The Muir Beach course will take you on classic trails used in Miwok 100K as far south as Rodeo Beach, with a postcard view of SF and the Golden Gate Bridge. Santa Monica course has super fast sweeping switchbacks on second loop that bring you to finish in one of the best descents of any PCTR event.
You'll be fine on 40M+ per week in my opinion, I'd guess you get plenty of hills in CO to prepare for climbs.
Whichever event you choose, can't really go wrong...enjoy your trip.
