Yes, I did the Big Basin 29k last year (I believe you swapped months with Salt Point, the latter one was in September last year) and I loved the course. Didn't like the bee sting though... The trees, waterfalls, the infamous stairs and bridges made of retired redwood trees!
After the race I did a 1k back to where I parked the car ;D

PS: Yes, I'll enjoy the boundaries - if I can walk after HH50 and Pikes Peak! Yikes...

Oh, that's RIGHT - you were at Big Basin last year! I'm hopeful that we'll be there after sting-season this time...

Yep, we swapped the two events, you're right. Two good reasons - the folks at Big Basin prefer to have us there when it's a little less busy (so maybe you'll be able to park closer), and our friends from Italy - Luciano and Serena - LOVE Salt Point and are only in the Bay Area through August each year.

With the two events scheduled as they are, everyone's happy!! ;D
