I love the proposed new races this year (Lake Merritt Half Day, Headlands 100). That's awesome! This is probably the year I give 100 a try. If not, I'm sure the 50 miler will be plenty difficult.
Also, I noticed the date for the SF One Day run changed to October 20/21. Is that now set in stone?

We have received verbal approval from the Park folks for those dates and expect to receive final approval soon.

Did you know the Nike Women's Marathon is Oct 21 in SF?

We don't see a fixed-time event like the SF One Day as a conflict with a women's road marathon like the Nike Women's Marathon. Plus, the One Day ends at 9:00 a.m. on the 21st, so the marathoners will just be passing by for a short time near the end.
And we think it'll be exciting for the One Day runners to have some other runners to watch!

You may note that we are now accepting entries into the Headlands Hundred and the associated 50 mile endurance run that you mentioned, Jon.
Should be a beautiful time of year in the Headlands with great views, both day and night. We're really excited about this new event!

Excellent! I just received the email. I'm seriously considering giving the 100 a try. If not, the 50 is on my calendar.
Great course layout too. I was afraid it would be endless loops of the headlands.
