I was briefly in Skyline Ridge OSP preserve today, and didn't have the time or inclination to slow down to read a sign carefully, but I am pretty sure it said that some trail names will be changing over the next few weeks.
I looked at the MROSD website, but couldn't find any confirmation or details, but this will likely affect the PCTR event there on October 3rd.
Just FYI.

[The text below is now on openspace.org. I can confirm that the Ipiwa Trail change has already been made, at least at the end near Alpine Pond.]
Trail Name Changes at Skyline Ridge OSP posted 8/31/2010
In the next few weeks, trail signs will be replaced to reflect trail name changes in Skyline Ridge OSP:
* Rename the “Ridge Trail” from Alpine Pond to the Skyline parking lot to “Ipiwa Trail.” “Ipiwa” means rattlesnake in Awáswas, an Ohlone Native American language spoken in the Santa Cruz mountains area.
* Rename the “Ridge Trail Alternate” to “Sunny Jim Trail” in recognition of James Rolph, Jr. who served as mayor of San Francisco from 1912 – 1931 and governor of California until his death in 1934. Rolph is a figure of local historical significance who once owned a 3,354-acre ranch in the Skyline Ridge Open Space Preserve area.
* Name the currently un-named trail through the old tree farm “Butano View Trail.”
* Rename the hiking only “Ridge Trail” from Horseshoe Lake to the Tree Farm to “Fir Knoll Trail.”
* Rename the multi-use “Ridge Trail” and “Ridge Trail Alternate” from Horseshoe Lake through the Tree Farm to “Tree Farm Trail.”
* Rename the “Ridge Trail” from the Tree farm to Peters Creek Trail to “Chestnut Trail.”
