but hey - both Sarah and Wendell are signed up, so you could *almost* call it a PCTR event!
I sent in my application and I was wondering if anybody would be interesting in coordinating flights and sharing resources - car rental and maybe camping equipment etc.
whatchall think? any interest?

I bit the bullet and signed up as well. Sarah and Beat finally wore me down. I'm all up for coordinating, but I never plan my trips this far in advance ;D

Finally! I was starting to get tired of arguing with you guys. (I guess more like you got tired of it ) Seriously, that'll be a lot of fun. And you guys can kick my butt (wow this thing has a profanity filter!) as I am crawling over the course! NOW. What does it take to get you guys to sign up for the San Diego 100 as well? I am signed up! Beat

I like the fact that it spanned multiple forums too. I'm even tempted, but I'm already signed up for the Marine Corps marathon that weekend. Also, the SF One Day is the week before.

Yeah, Beats middle name is "peer pressure"!
Would anybody have the time/ be willing to share a car ride to AZ? Just looked at the flights and they're not exactly as cheap as Portland or LA!

We're driving, but have a full vehicle, as Flora is going to ride along with us.
We leave Thursday evening and arrive in Phoenix on Friday morning just as Starbucks opens, if anyone wants to caravan.

I'm afraid that time is the one resource I don't have in abundance. Frequent flyer miles on the other hand, I do have so I will be flying down there.

I'll definitely be up for sharing a rental car, possibly hotel as well. If anyone's interested, let me know. I might try to get there late on Friday so I don't have to take Friday off.
Ciao, Beat

well, after an overall cost analysis I'm most likely to drive. Hopefully I'll find somebody to share the ride in my pregnant dogin Subaru.
Sarah, what route are you taking? The one that google recommends? Are you driving during the night to avoid the LA I-5 jam? I'm thinking about caravaning, but if I'm by myself I'll have to stop somewhere and catch a few z somewhere along the way.

Yep, we'll take off sometime Thursday evening - I think between 7 and 8 p.m. is when we usually leave. That way, we miss traffic everywhere and arrive in Phoenix early in the morning for coffee.
I would think that, with three drivers in our car (Wendell, Flora, and me) we could work it out so that we could get both cars to AZ without stopping, but you may end up with someone to share the driving, too.
