What a lovely day on the Oakland trails that was!! Really, we thought that the day would feel hot, hectic, and hurried, what with the recent warm weather and nearly 400 runners on the course. But, instead, it was a nice cool morning and everyone seemed to bring their best low-key, enjoy the day, have fun trail running attitude with them – from first finisher to last in each event, people seemed to have a wonderful time on the beautiful, soft, shaded trails of Redwood Park. Thanks so much for coming out to run in Oakland on Sunday. Lots of you completed your first trail run ever on the challenging trails of Redwood Park, and a whole bunch of folks even finished their first-ever ultra out there, including both the first male and first female finishers in the 50 Km! Congratulations to all the first-timers and to all the other finishers, too. Complete results are available at: www.pctrailruns.com/RP_Results_07.htmWe hope that you can join us for our next event, the Big Basin Redwoods Trail Run in California’s oldest State Park, which takes place on Sunday, September 16th. We’ll have 9 Km, 17 Km, 25 Km, and 50 Km distances from which you may choose, and you’ll find that this park, too, has many incredible redwoods, lots of shade, some lush fern-lined trails, and even a waterfall for your running enjoyment. Hope you’re able to join us then. Thanks again for coming out to the Redwood Park Trail Run, and hope we see you out on the trail again soon! Wendell & Sarah
