As of today, Sunday 03/10, there are fewer than 40 spots available for the Pirates Cove Trail Run on 03/24.
We WILL sell out this week, and there will be no run-day registration.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you there!

Excellent! Let's hope we have some of this fabulous, clear, sunny weather on the 24th - the views from that course are fabulous, and there will be lots of surfers and other beach folk to watch when you're done running.
Which distance are you running?
We are looking forward to the 24th, too - see you then!

Wow, and 66 people signed up for the 50K! There goes my shot at another top-10 finish at one of your "small" ultras ;D -Steve Ansell mountain-man-steve.blogspot.com/As of today, Sunday 03/10, there are fewer than 40 spots available for the Pirates Cove Trail Run on 03/24. Sorry about that, Steve - you've got a few days to do speedwork, though.
Actually, we're surprised at the 50 Km turnout, too. It's a challenging course - I think a lot of the people out there that day are using it as a training run for other stuff.
See you the weekend after next!

The entries are really coming in quickly. It looks as if we'll close registration today or tomorrow.

The 50K total is up to 85 people, that's got to be close to a record for PCTR! I definitely agree that a lot of people are probably using it to train for longer events. I know that I have AR50 and then MiWok coming up after that. I wonder how many of the Pirates Cove runners are also singed up for MiWok. Seems like the perfect training race. -Steve moutnain-man-steve.blogspot.com/

OK, I went and did the numbers myself and it looks like nearly 30% of the Pirates Cove 50K runners are also signed up for the Wiwok 100K. That practically makes it the "official" training run :-).

Wow - that's pretty cool! Thanks for figuring that out, Steve!
I know that some of those who are 'in' - as well as some who wanted to get in and missed out, unfortunately - are doing the Headlands Hundred or the Headlands 50 in August, too.
See you on the 24th!

So, you're doing Miwok for the first time, Steve?
Wendell and I are running it, too - but I guess that doesn't count, since we're not signed up for Pirates Cove!

Sarah, You guys are more than "signed up" for Pirates Cove, you're making it happen! By the way, as a first time 100K runner browsing the list of participants at Miwok is pretty scary. There's some seriously fast ultrarunners on that list! -Steve

Yep, it's always like that at Miwok - one of the Bay Area events that always draws a lot of fast folks. But it's a ton of fun out there because of the really neat cross-section of runners.
I see that you did Firetrails last fall - as your first 50, right? That race seems to draw its share of the speedy, as well.
