Ah Sarah! You've gone and ruined the surprise! You're supposed to keep people over-focused on the water crossing so they don't realize that the real challenge of this course is running up steep, soft, white beach sand that has no business being up there on top of a mountain in the redwoods. Oh well, there really is no way to prepare for it anyway ;D If no one's going to mention the sand, maybe that means that we need to have more brought in for this year's event... Sarah

You could always put a "Corona Aid station" right up there with the white beach sand!!! ;D ;D A few extra carbs won't hurt!!

Sorry, Steve - I guess that I blew it. I just figured that, since no one had commented on it, maybe there wasn't enough sand to even notice it... ;D

Sand, what? Is this a trail run or a beach run? Now, I like Tony's idea with the Coronas much better, but nobody ever commented on any beer ideas I had so far in this forum so I gave up. Tony, let's go for a beer afterwards and let the others indulge in their Whey protein-strawberry-banana mixes! ;-) Norbert

Yeah, I, too, noticed that all your attempts to start a beer thread on this forum just sort of fade away...
Sorry, Norbert.

Sarah & Wendell, Any news on the shipment of gaiters? I know Sarah mentioned that they may come in this week. I could of used some at Mt. Diablo, as now I have a huge blister on my heel of all places. Would like to be prepared for SC 50K
Thanks, Tony

No word yet. They are on their way - but were made outside the U.S., so we don't know exactly when they'll arrive. I'll start a 'gaiter' thread on the Message Board when they're in, though.
Sorry, Tony.
