Well, it definitely wasn’t the ideal weather for viewing the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco from the trails but, as many of you mentioned on Saturday, the Marin Headlands are beautiful and the trails there wonderful in ANY weather! While you may not have gotten to check out the bridges or the cities and towns, you could still see abundant and varied wildflowers, horses being exercised, runners disappearing into the fog, a little cove and the wide-open beach, and the views down into the lush valleys. Several of you even spotted a bobcat!! We hope that any initial disappointment you felt because of the ‘missing’ vistas was replaced by the realization that there was plenty of beauty nearby.
Thank you so much for joining us on Saturday – all of you! It was a fabulous turnout for this always-popular event, and we had to close registration earlier than ever before – nearly two weeks before event day. And in this year’s big crowd were lots of our friends, many PCTR regulars, a BIG group from Santa Rosa, whole families, and lots of first-time trail runners and first time ultramarathoners. Congratulations to all the finishers! Complete results are available at:

Our next event is in Southern California, the Santa Monica Mountains Trail Run. We know that a few of you are planning on joining us down south for some trail running in the sunshine on April 14th. We’ll have 9 Km, 18 Km, 30 Km, and 50 Km distances from which you may choose, and each distance is extremely rewarding, not only because each is challenging but also because of the fabulous views.
Our next event in the Bay Area is the Diablo Marathon and 50 Mile Endurance Run. We hope that some of you can make it out to our training ground, Mt. Diablo, for this fun-to-run and fun-to-watch event. Runners will be on the trails from 7:00 a.m. ‘til well past sundown so, if you’re not running, feel free to stop by an aid station or the finish line to see how things are going.
Thanks again for coming out to Rodeo Beach for the Pirates Cove Trail Run on Saturday, and hope we see you out on the trails again soon.
