I'm a little intimidated by the elevation and wondering what it will be like on the trail. I've done lots of trail runs in Orange County (Aliso Woods, El Moro Canyon, Whiting Ranch, Modjeska). Will there be lots of shade/cloud covering during the run?

If you have done Modjeska you will be fine.

The cloud covering is weather dependent, of course, but there isn't a lot of shade on the course if there aren't clouds - most of the area is quite exposed.
You have all day to do the 18 Km, and most runners will hike the uphills and run the flats and downhills. Just take your time and enjoy!
See you Sunday!

Thanks so much for putting on this run. I had such a great time, not only during the race but also afterwards. I think I might schedule some trips to the bay area to take advantage of some of your other races!
