Terrific stuff Miki...I actually went to college for graphic art (pre-computer era, circa 1982), but wound up in the carpentry trade??? Now are there going to be miki-bars at the TV AS Saturday? (Pretty much the only reason I volunteered). Will G.

Actually, the new Muir Beach logo was done by Karen Hanke. But, you're right - ALL the new logos are great, aren't they?! As for Miki-bars, I think we have a shot at seeing some at Rodeo Beach, since Miki's going to be helping there...but you're out of luck this Saturday, as far as I know. Sarah

I wonder how many on this board, other than Wendell and me, can relate to that...

My graphic design ed was circa 1995. We had barely established a "computer lab" before I graduated. Even I look back and think that kids these days have no idea.....!!!!!!
Sorry about the no-show on the Miki bars Will. You'll have to show up for Rodeo Beach next weekend.

One of my friends started out in the graphic arts business in the mid-80's doing manual 4-color separation. It's all done on computers now, has been for awhile, and lots of the guys that had been around for years just never took to it, so they dropped out of the business and found other work. Fortunately, my friend didn't, so when I need help touching up a particularly nice digital photo, I send it to him and he works his magic.

Can we get some younger people on this Message Board? The graphics really do look great. See you old timers on Saturday.

Can we get some younger people on this Message Board? See you old timers on Saturday. Yeah that from a guy who runs in socks that look like something my grandfather (who I never met) wore with his sandals while mowing the lawn. [Great job Karen Hanke!] Will G.

Ryan's do look like that - except I think your grandfather's were black...and in his day, 'lawn mowers' were live animals, weren't they?

On the event shirts (Stinson, Woodside, and Muir Beach have all been new) and, in the case of MB, on the run-day instructions e-mail.
I guess you can only see 'em if you sign up!

I wonder how many on this board, other than Wendell and me, can relate to that... Well, me, for one! ;D My degree is a ripe old vintage: 1988! We didn't have computers and I was one of those guys who learned on things called 'Mergenthaler' and used 'stat rooms' and 'overlays.' I remember spec'ing type manually. Arrrrgh. The computer makes it so much easier. Slinks off to look at the new logos....
