Since some (most?) of us Diablo runners in the SF bay area will get up around 5am next Saturday I thought it would be nice to take this opportunity and step out of the house and watch the International Space Station flying by.
The time & coordinates for the SF bay area: Sat Jun 02/05:03 AM Duration: 2 minutes Approach elevation and direction: 10 degrees above NNW Departure elevation and direction: 23 degrees above NNE
Clear skies granted, the space station will appear as a bright dot (similar to a star) on the sky, moving quite rapidly and therefore clearly distinguishable.
After the sighting, don't forget to go back into the house and have a large breakfast: 300-600 calories! ;-)
Have fun! Norbert
PS: The visibility on Sunday lasts even longer (5 minutes) but who wants to get up early the day after race day??

Wow! Sounds very cool. However, since I'll be staying at my sister's house 2.5 miles from the start, I'll probably roll out of bed at a leisurely 7:30am ;D Actually, I'm considering running to the start for a warm-up so maybe I'll get up a bit earlier -Steve (whose hoping to have finally kicked the stomach bug that he's been fighting for the past week).
