I've never ran any trail races but very excited to try it out. I recently ran in a couple of half marathons and have been trail running for fun for some years now. I didn't even know there were avid trailrunners until recently.. So, yippee, I'm definitely going to try out the one at Angel Island. If you have any tips, I'm all ears!! ;D Thanks! Carrie Oh ya, any carpoolers?.. I'm in the South Bay.

I just ran my first PCTR run at Rodeo Beach and had a blast. Even though I only ran the 8K, the course felt very challenging. I would definitely recommend starting with a short distance for your first trail race. If there's been recent rain, be careful out on the course and always keep your eyes on the trail. I saw several people with knee and elbow scrapes.

Welcome to trail running! As a convert from road running, I don't think I can ever go back.
Angel Island is a BEAUTIFUL course! Hopefully the weather will be clear enough to see SF and the entire bay. Remember: no matter how steep or high that hill may be, you'll always be rewarded with the view at the top. And every up hill has a down hill on the other side...
Happy trails, Online Coach Marissa
