I've used Coppertone Sport and been pretty happy with it, but on the two PCTR events I've been on I've had problems with it running into my eyes and stinging (despite the package saying "Ultra sweatproof: won't run into eyes & sting").
Are there any sunscreens that people are happy with?

That was Coppertone Sport (SPF 50) or a generic equivalent from the drug store. We've used it for years because it'll last all day and even longer (we don't usually reapply even in a hundred miler), but we do cover our eyes with our hand when applying it to prevent it getting in our eyes. As long as we do that, we don't find that it gets into our eyes later.

I figured something out yesterday at Pirate's Cove. I noticed that I was one of a very small minority of runners not wearing a hat. I think if I wear a hat and don't put sunscreen on my forehead, maybe things will be better.
My question is, doesn't a hat make you warm? In cold weather I've always heard that a hat helps a lot to keep heat in, which seems like it would be a bad thing in warm weather.
Visors? Those desert hats with the cloth neck covering?

Yeah definitely go with a billed cap and no sunscreen above the eyes...the cap also acts as a cooling device (if needed) by simply dumping a bit of water over your head every once in awhile.
Felt great to run in the sun...awesome day.

A cap made from a good wicking material does wonders for keeping sweat out of your eyes. Heat is not really a problem as the sweat that the cap absorbs keeps your head cool.
