Hi Wendell and Sarah, I did a few of your great runs as a total novice in 2005 -- then I went back to work overseas, next had a baby. I am just now getting back to running (?) as I think I finally hired a babysitter... just wondering how early I need to sign up for Pacifica, Skyline to the Sea and possibly either the Headlands 50 or Salt Point ? I would hate to miss the entry deadlines, but I am not absolutely positive I am going to be able to get in the training to pull this off. Thanks for any thoughts or info! Hope to see you on the trail. Katharine

Different events sell out at different rates than one another, and at different rates different years. There is no way to predict when an event will sell out, honestly - and we've learned that we can't always even predict THAT at event will sell out, as events have been selling out this year that hadn't in the past.
The best thing to do is to sign up if you want to run - you can always adjust the distance for which you're signed up later. If you're unsure whether you want to run an event, then keep an eye on the event page and on this board - we will always give some warning (the amount varies, though) before an event sells out.
Hope that helps.
