Is there any chance that one of your events may become a PAUSATF Ultra event in the future?

There is a chance that one (or even two) of our events will become a PA USATF event in the future, but not in 2007, of course.

Great! That's the one thing that is holding me back from doing HH. RDL is part of the PAUSATF ultra events and I just might be the first one to take first place in my age group with never placing in the top 40% of a race...wait, is that a good thing? I only have two more years of "under 29", then that's when the competition really begins (and when my name falls to the bottom of the list!) My very first 10k race I took first place in my age group....I was the only one in my age group. Oh well! -Brad

Yeah, I know what you mean. A million years ago when I used to race road bikes, I won the inaugural Block Island 100 Kilometer Endurance Ride (BIKER) by beating my friend, Corliss, by coming in across the line a few feet ahead of her after riding together ALL day. The trophy was HUGE...and I felt like breaking it in two and giving the bigger piece to her. It's nice to win - but it's nice to actually come in ahead of a few other people to do it. Sarah

Sarah, that's really cool. It's good to see your events get more notoriety. My only concern is that you may need to change your tag line if this happens. Pretty hard to claim a PA USATF event as NOT a race There is a chance that one (or even two) of our events will become a PA USATF event in the future, but not in 2007, of course.

You'll note that four of our events ARE races, even in our tagline for those events: Diablo, Lake Merritt Half Day, Headlands Hundred, and SF One Day. THOSE are races in beautiful places!! Sarah

Uh...well, YEAH!! Does that answer make you want to use this emoticon or this one or maybe this one ? Hey, actually, that would be kind of cool if you did all four, wouldn't it?! Sarah

Will running all these four in one year be called PCTR (Endurance) Slam? Furthermore, running ALL PCTR events in one year will be called PCTR Grand Slam?

Sarah I think this is more appropriate I think I'm definitely in for trying my first 100 in August. I haven't decided on the SF24, though. I'm signed up for the Nike Marathon the next day. How about a 24/Nike combo?

Hey, those are good ideas, Chihping! Even without titles, those are interesting concepts... We'll have to see if anyone other than Jon even did Diablo 50 and Lake Merritt. I know that Glenda Taylor and Ron Vertrees did the marathon at Diablo and then Lake Merritt 6- and 12-hour events, respectively. And we've had a few people come close in the past to doing all our events in one calendar year - John Koester probably came the closest. He literally might have done every event in 2006 (including in Malibu and Portland) except for the One Day. Amazing! But, since we now have 27 events a year, including 4 back-to-back right now, I'm not sure that anyone will ever come that close again! Sarah

Runners would earn points equivalent to the km/miles run and/or elevation gain. Of course, I wouldn't want the non-competitive spirit of your events to be impacted by this system.
