So, I just found out that I will be free Friday and have no where to go. Any suggestions on where I can go to relax and even get some runs in?
No limitations on how far or much. Company pays for all. ;D ;D I was thinking of going to Santa Cruz mountains to see what I am getting myself into and then maybe heading to Big Sur.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Tony, don't know if I can make it on Friday, but a great place to run is "Rancho San Antonio State Park" close to the intersection of 85/280 in the South Bay. Google it! I usually do one or two loops of 8 miles there, starting at the parking lot and going up the High Meadow Trail and down the PG&E trail. Each loop is about 2000ft elev gain. Let me know if you need further info. Norbert

One of my favorite places to run is the coastal trail starting at the Palomarin trailhead up in Marin (about 1 hour north of SF). Here's a link to a description of the trail. www.bahiker.com/northbayhikes/palomarin.htmlThis run includes beautiful views of the coast, several inland ponds, some pine forests, fantastic wildflowers and even a side spur to a neat waterfall. If you want more mileage just keep following the trail until you're ready to turn around. Also, the trail is not technical and very runnable.

Santa Cruz is definitely a good place if you also want to "hang out" after your run. You have the town, beach and boardwalk for after your run. Big Sur is a beautiful area, but I don't know much about the trails. As for great trails, I would also recommend Big Basin. So, I just found out that I will be free Friday and have no where to go.
