I am wondering what people usually do when it comes to the river crossing. I would like to have a competitive time and am worried that taking my shoes and socks off will be very time consuming. Any suggestions?
P.S. I'm running the 21k.
Thanks!

I've never tried to cross with my shoes on, but I have seen runners doing that. I don't think the minute or 2 would make up for the discomfort of running in soaking wet shoes and socks, so I take them off and cross. If you've run in the rain and get soaking shoes and socks, it would be like that.
Good luck

I tried a couple of river crossings today at Nicene marks and my shoes were fine after a short distance of running.

Kept my shoes on today and had no problems. Great course!
