I am going to be in Sonoma, CA from the east coast from January 19 and returning the 22nd on business. It kills me that I can't stay an extra day to race the Pacifica, but I still want to get out for a 20k/30k while I am out. I would certainly welcome any company. I'm 28, new into trail running with a couple IM's under my belt and want to jog along around 10/min mile pace. I have the HAT50k trail run in Maryland in March and figured that this would be good training. Also, does anyone know who was run through San Pedro Valley Park if the trails are going to be marked with the flags?
Thanks for the help!

Trailheads are well marked throughout the park, but there will be no event ribbons on course other than race day. Keep in mind the park lies at the base of Montara Mountain, so all trails lead UP, a 10min pace would be relatively fast (top-10 finish in 30K), be prepared for long climbs/descents and cool/windy coastal weather at summits. www.pctrailruns.com/images/Pacifica_30_Km_Elevation.JPGGreat park, great trails, enjoy your trip/run. Will captured it very well and I second the 10min/mile pace comments. Mount Montara is a long uphill exposed climb so temper your expectations and bring plenty of water - especially on a hot day.
As far as running w/o course markings: San Pedro Valley Park has very few trails so you shouldn't need them, the info from the PCTR site and a park map will be sufficient for most.

I believe the park closes at 5pm or sunset during the winter months - you should confirm if you are planning to run late afternoon/evening.
