I would expect rain to not cancel the race. Lightning might be a different story. The current forecast is okay for Saturday, though I'm sure even in the best case there will be some mud.
[Update: the web page now explicitly says "rain or shine."]

Fortunately a majority of San Pedro Valley Park's trails are fast draining so it won't be as muddy as most Bay Area trails. There are some sections near Brooks Falls and on the Hazelnut trail that are sure to have some mud though. On the upside, we should get a wonderful waterfall show!
It may sound corny, but the single best piece of advice for "mud" running is have fun with it. Don't worry about getting dirty, wet, or slowing down. Take the opportunity to be a kid again. If you're going to be out there a long time and are prone to feet issues, I'd suggest having a spare pair of dry shoes and socks at the aid station for a quick change during the race if needed. A pre-race application of an oil based lubricant may help your feet repel the water (Vaseline, Bag Balm, Body Glide).
Of course dress appropriately! It looks like we're clear of rain for the day, but things can change. The Montara summit can be cold and windy during the very exposed climb. Be prepared for a long, chilly climb.

Excellent advice.
As for weather, it can be windy and chilly on North Peak, but pretty warm and steamy on the other loop.
Good luck everybody! Norbert
