Aaron told us on Saturday that the Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Run is in his “top three favorite PCTR events”, and we knew why. With the beautiful soft and mostly shaded trails, wonderful start/finish area, runnable ups and downs, and fantastic river crossing, not to mention the nearby Santa Cruz attractions, Aaron thinks this is a really fun place to run. We agree with him and hope that you do, too!!
Even with sell-out numbers, this venue never felt hectic or crowded, and we had a great time on Saturday with all of you from the first ‘parade lap’ until the last finisher crossed the line. Congratulations to all the finishers, with a special ‘Congrats!’ to those of you who finished your first trail run. Also, a ‘Great job!’ to all of the 50 Km finishers. This is becoming a very popular ultramarathon, both as a first ultra and for the more experienced trail runners, because if its relatively mellow elevation gain, shaded trails, and super-fun river crossing. This year, in addition to many first ultra finishers, a lot of speedsters came out to run, and both the male and female course records were broken by over half an hour! Our next event is the Pacifica Trail Run on Saturday, June 30th at San Pedro Valley Park. We’ll have 9 Km, 21 Km, 30 Km, and 50 Km distances and no matter which distance you choose, we think you’ll enjoy these beautiful, challenging trails. And if the weather is clear, the views of Pacifica, the ocean, and beyond will be spectacular! Hope to see you in Pacifica at the end of the month.
Thanks for coming out to the Santa Cruz Mountains Trail Run, and hope we see you out on the trails again soon.
