Does anyone know how much the old Purisima Creek 50K and the current Woodside 50K courses have in common?

I don't know the old Purisima Creek course, but I know that the Woodside course does not enter Purisima Creek Preserve at all. I remember having a discussion about it with Sarah some time ago and she mentioned that they wouldn't run any more races in that park due to some fairly onerous restrictions the rangers wanted for holding an event there.

that's odd considering it's pretty much a free-for-all with mtb'ers.

Yeah, I run there. I just wonder- why the running event restrictions? I would think that we're pretty tame as a group compared to the mtb downhillers that roam there every weekend. I used to be one of them.
