I am driving up from So. CA for the sequoia run and not familiar with the park or start area. From the map I see the general area but will it be obvious where to park and get to start area inside? Thanks! Looking forward to the run.

Yes, it's fairly obvious. You'll see a bunch of runners around. You can park on the street or in a lot. Some of the street parking is closer than the lot, so those spots go first.
Have fun on the trail and enjoy the French Trail (unless you're running the 10k)!

ATD is right it'll be obvious. But, I pulled up google map's street view. The link below shows the park entrance. The race start is down a steep trail just beyond and to the right of the metal yellow gate in the picture. maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Joaquin+Miller+Park,+3600+Joaquin+Miller+Road,+Oakland,+CA+94602&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=36.231745,70.839844&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=3600+Joaquin+Miller+Rd,+Oakland,+Alameda,+California+94611&ll=37.809597,-122.18359&spn=0.008832,0.017295&z=16&layer=c&cbll=37.809563,-122.183396&panoid=uN400qphh43VRBm4x81N2w&cbp=12,35.55,,0,-4.89

Thanks for the entrance and parking tips....got it. Looking forward to this change of scenery, our trails suffered last year with fires but are now coming back. Happy Running!
