I am running the 50k at Malibu Creek next weekend and am a little nervous. Besides it being 31(!) miles long I heard there was also a stream crossing.
What do most people do to keep there feet dry? Is there a way to avoid getting my feet wet? Should I just tie an extra pair of old shoes to my camelback? Any help would be really appreciated. I am super nervous about this race.
Thanks.

Dont worry about it.
I dont know the course, but in other races with stream crossings I just plunge in. Your feet will dry in a mile or two. It becomes kinda fun.

I was just messing around. I love running in the water. In Alaska if your feet are dry.....then you are on the treadmill.
It will be a party out there!!

A little off topic, but I got the standard e-mail from PCTR today about this race. What seemed ironic was that they emphasized the movie history of the area, and yet the race is happening on Oscar Sunday. Okay, I suppose if you live nearby, and are either doing a shorter distance or are fast, you wouldn't miss any of the Oscar hoopla. But still, serious movie people probably have other plans that day. All that said, I do hope to get in 15+ miles on Sunday morning, to partially make up for the eating and drinking to follow. And to those who do attend, have fun!

If you're still on the course by the time the Oscars start, hopefully somebody will send a search party.
