Angel Island Questions

Hi there folks, I'm going to be visiting from WA and was thinking about doing the Angel Island run. I have a couple of questions.

I'm assuming the ferry is open to the public and that family members who want to just hang out on the island can come too.

Also, is anyone driving from the Fremont area that I could catch a ride with? Or somewhere along the BART line?

Yes Bree, the ferries from Tiburon are public. Even if the one you are on is full, your posse can take another. Here's the link to the ferry's website:

If your friends are nautical, they can even rent a sloop in Sausalito and sail over to the island.
