My wife is heading up my CREW (Cranky Runner, Endless Waiting) at the Headlands 100 -- she wants to know if it is acceptable to pitch a tent at the Start/Finish at Rodeo Beach for the entire duration of the race (approx. 23-27 hours, in my case). I can't see anything on the PCTR site that mentions this directly. I've contacted Sarah & Wendell with this query, but haven't yet heard back from them. Does anyone know if camping is OK?

No, camping/pitching a tent isn't allowed at Rodeo Beach. Sorry.

You may still be able to book a room at the youth hostel, less than a mile away...

I have almost the same question but I am wondering if the Park Service would allow parking my crew vehicle, a fully self contained RV at the Rodeo Beach dirt lot for the duration of the race?

If camping isn't permitted, then my question becomes the same as the last poster -- my wife (who will in August be nursing our soon-to-born infant son, due June 9th) will want, if possible, to park a van/RV at Rodeo Beach so she can be there for the duration but with the supplies & comfort she'll need. Does anyone know if a van/RV at Rodeo Beach is permissable?
