I am moving to San Rafael from Phoenix in a week and am in the middle of training for a 50mile. I have never been there and have no idea where to run! Any ideas would be of help, but the shorter distance to drive to/from the route the better, and the longer the route the better.
Thanks for any help!

Mt Diablo??? Upon settling in San Rafael, you'll be less than a 20min drive to the Marin Headlands (Mt Tam, Miwok, Dipsea, Pirate's Cove, Rodeo Beach, Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, Pan Toll, Bolinas Ridge, etc) Tennessee Valley trailhead (one of several options): maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=San+Rafael,+CA&daddr=37.860624,-122.536011&geocode=FR9uQwId8VKy-Ckvegk2Z5eFgDFUJuLmIE0Bvg%3B&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=15&sll=37.870178,-122.534723&sspn=0.02368,0.035105&ie=UTF8&ll=37.921993,-122.522621&spn=0.189309,0.280838&z=12
