I had an xray the first time I did this last December which did not show any fractures or breaks. I didn't get xrays for this one since I considered it a "there we go again" type of thing. I have had quite a few people check it out though and the concensus seems to be a sprain. I am throwing the lot at it right now (acupuncturist, tuina massage therapist, chiropractor/ sports therapist) so hopefully I can break up all that scar tissue that I've built up. My guess is that most of the pain comes from that. I hope...

Final update (Tuesday 10/30, Day 24)... 90%+ of swelling/bruising is now gone, been running (treadmill) over the last week and went at full tempo/flat on Sunday. Continue icing only immediately after runs, weight bearing ROM excercises on a balance pad, and twice daily massage. Wearing elastic sleeve/brace during all activity. Still minor soreness in top of foot and below calf, and stiff for the first few minutes upon waking/walking each day. Hitting trails later this week, hope to see you at Stinson and full fitness at the Quad...I think I got lucky this time. Will G. Also, great stuff at Javelina Wendell (again)...sorry you weren't feeling well Sarah.

Thanks Miki...yes even my semi-dead big toenail should be back to normal after next clipping. Hope your ankle is coming along. Will G. 10/31 Addendum: ran Lake Chabot shoreline loop trails today with no issue(s)...good to go.
