First thanks PCTR for designing such a wonderful course. I suffered but I enjoyed the fun and challenges out of it. It's not an easy course but very scenic. Also thanks all the volunteers. You are simply the best! Last I loved to run with all other runners on the trail. It made it a great day to me! I did consider drop at the half, but was inspired and encouraged from other runners (Karyn Hoffman, thank you!). I was able to come back from dead and finished the 50 miler. I took take a few photos. Thanks. Those are some good shots. I'm glad you hung in there, especially since my photo opp (#69) wouldn't have been.

Thanks so much for posting this! I didn't want to lug my digital camera so I just did a disposable and a bunch of my pictures didn't come out that clearly. Congrats on completing such a hard race, especially since you were struggling in the middle. I only did the marathon and cannot imagine doubling that

Great pics Chihping and congrats on finishing. Sounds like it was pretty tough out there. Maybe it'll slow you down enough that I can hang with you next weekend at Miwok. OK, probably not considering how strong a runner you are, but I can still dream ;-)

Thanks for the beautiful photos, Chihping - hope you don't mind that we're using one as part of the results letter that we're sending out.
Congratulations again on your fine run and strong finish, Chihping!

Thank you, Chihping. Sorry that you're feeling tired and sore - we're sleepy, too, but won't be sore until next week.
Thanks for all your support, and we'll see you on Saturday in the dark at Rodeo Beach.

I'll hopefully be seeing you guys at Miwok too, but as a volunteer . I'm working Pan Toll from 11:30-6:30 and since I think the cut off for that aid station is 6:30, most everyone should hopefully be coming though before the end of my shift I'll try to be on top of getting you guys food and drink ;D Have a great race!

Chihping - it was great meeting you. I'll grab the one of us on top of the observation tower.
And congrats on your strong finish!
All the best to all of you, runners and volunteers, for the Miwok. May the force be with you!

It's a good thing you didn't get a picture of me crossing the finish line - I'm sure that photo would have scared off potential runners for future events! But seriously - thanks for your positive attitude and dedication to the sport - you're a real inspiration. -Kermit

After rereading your report, Chihping, and reading Addy's - I just can't GET OVER how much you guys remember from your time out there!! It is so impressive that you remember how you felt, who you ran with, what you talked about, and more!!
Thank you, thank you, Chihping, for the lovely photos, too - you and Chris and Addy got such wonderful pictures to go along with your stories that I almost feel as if I was out there with you - I have run on Mt. Diablo so many times that I can relate to everything you saw and felt as if I was running on Sunday, too.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us.

Thanks Sarah! I also read Addy's report (and her friend Terry's). They are great! I started with a brief description to tell my friends how I finished my first 50 miler in AR50 2005. I kept writing some in later races. I found I always have fun in reading them over and over again with the race feeling coming out differently every time. My memory are fading (getting old :-)), but I thought I can put down something after a race so that I can keep the joy, fun, and excitement forever in other forms (words and now also in pictures). On the other hand, I'd like to write more to improve my English :-) Therefore I started my blog ( ultrafamilyman.blogspot.com/ ) last year. Thanks for visiting it. Chihping
