Then again, the prospect of meeting my already hyper-self out on the trail at 3am all hopped-up on extreme caffeine brownies might actually keep people away!

While I think I know what caffeine brownies are (without being aware of the actual ingredients), I'm still clueless what a snickerdoodle is! Also I request a list of all aid stations with names of the volunteers (I NEVER recognize them without running gear!! and the menu of the buffet for each stations. I really want to plan accordingly. So why not have something like: Ultragirl: Bolinas Ridge, putties and spritzer Pat: Tennesse Valley: Snicherdoodles and caffeine brownies Sarah: Start/Finish, bagels, chili, and bagels (and beer)

Wendell/Sarah - will the drop bags for the 50 milers be gone by the time we reach Tennessee Valley the second time? The chart shows that they won't be available (on the Aid Station/Drop bag page). Just wanted to check - thx! The drop bags will still be at TV for the 2nd time through (46 miles). I corrected the chart. Thanks for letting us know. Wendell (PCTR)

Wow, Jon - I hope that you pay more attention to the course markings than you're paying to these food posts! Pat, the maker of the world-famous PB fudge, already posted about it!! Even worse was missing a turn at Diablo b/c I was wondering if there would be PB Fudge at the next aid station. But, at least I didn't take any wrong turns at Lake Merritt.

OK all you fabulous runners my husband and I will be working the Bolinas aid station and will be there to feed and hydrate you all with great smiles. I am making trail putty for you all which is PB,honey & dried milk all blended then firmed up(like fudge) and cut into bite size pieces....hope you all enjoy it see ya out Sat!!! I was wondering how this would work with flavored protein powder in place of the powdered milk? chocolate/pb combo comes to mind....

Alright, while we're talking about food -- I'm curious to know if the vegetarian soup Sarah mentioned will be vegan? Or, alternatively -- will there be hot water available at aid stations so I can make one of those little dehydrated soup cups? Running RDL last year I was all stoked to have soup (either from the aid station or my own dehydrated kind) until I found out all they had was chicken broth and no hot water. So I figured I'd scope out the situation ahead of time this time around... Can't wait to see you all Saturday! Will this week EVER end???!!! I HATE TAPERING! -Janet

The exact type of vegetarian soup is yet to be determined, but it will be vegan. I don't know if it will be just a broth or thicker, but I plan to buy something 'good' at Whole Foods or some such place - I don't have time to make anything homemade, and they don't have veggie/vegan soups at Sam's Club/Safeway where I get the rest of the supplies.
Veggie soup will only be at Rodeo Beach (S/F) and Tennessee Valley - no other aid stations will have hot stuff.
And there will be coffee at Rodeo Beach, too - but there may or may not be hot water, 'cause I only have three burners and I'll be making soup, chili, and veggie soup.
